Xavier High School ... Gone Astray!

To the current regime:

Xavier’s mission statement claims that it is: “an academically rigorous…school…that educates …young men of diverse backgrounds and means”. Nothing in this mission statement mentions the civic responsibility and love of country which motivated former Xavier graduates to contribute to the success of the United States of America and protect the freedoms which guarantee that success and promote justice here and around the world. There is no mention of the critical thinking essential for achieving those successes or the diversity of thought which is our real strength.

When I took the latest issue of the Xavier magazine (Summer 2020) from the mailbox, I happened to see the back cover first. I saw the banner ‘Black lives matter’ and the names of numerous people who have died under a variety of circumstances. Some of those named are people with extensive criminal records. George Floyd, for instance, had a long criminal record and was incarcerated several times. While it is true that his arrest was not handled properly, the outcome could have been different if he had just complied with the lawful orders of the police officers. His autopsy revealed that he had a potentially fatal dose of fentanyl in his system, along with methamphetamine and that the drugs in his system at least contributed to his death. Many of the other names have similar stories.

More telling than the facts mentioned above is the lack of reference in the magazine to the many police officers killed in the line of duty, or of the many young black men dying every day in the streets of Chicago and other cities. Most egregious is the failure, especially noteworthy for a Catholic institution, to mention the millions of lives lost, of all colors, through abortion. Apparently, the only lives which matter are those which can be exploited to advance a political agenda. While Xavier spews politically correct pablum and ‘social justice’ nonsense, communities across the country are burned to the ground, police are attacked and the poorest areas suffer the loss of businesses and jobs. Amazon rakes in billions of dollars while small businesses close for good. Target and other big retailers write off their looting losses while ‘Mom and Pop’ stores are destroyed. Democrats along with their allies in the press and Silicon Valley attempt to silence their opposition while supporting Antifa, a fascist organization, and BLM, which advocates Marxism and the destruction of the United States and the nuclear family.

I have seen this coming for years: post-modernist theory, thinly disguised Marxism being taught as critical race theory, unconscious bias and white privilege. The very essence of class warfare. It used to be Liberation Theology: priests in Che Guevara t-shirts. No critical thinking there. Now there are pastors calling on their congregations to kneel and beg forgiveness for their alleged ‘white privilege’. It should be appalling that in a school which touts its “rigorous” education, the stain of the blood of millions at the hands of socialism is absent from that education. Today in this country, the race hustlers are out in full force. Wasn’t President Barack Obama supposed to cure those problems and lower sea levels as a

bonus? Now we are subjected to the Obamas lecturing us from the secure confines of their $12 million estate on Martha’s Vineyard. Apparently, eight years just wasn’t enough. Yet, in less than one term, President Trump has initiated economic policies which have led to historic improvements for the entire country, including historic employment figures for minority groups. His achievements are many, including energy independence, returning manufacturing to the United States and the recent peace agreements between Israel and several other countries.

President Trump’s successes have been accomplished despite the corruption in Washington, D.C. and in the main-stream media. These successes have spawned a violent opposition: from the ‘Russia collusion’ hoax to the campaign of anarchy now directed against law enforcement and our institutions. ‘By all means necessary’ is now the motto of the Democrat Party and its allies. No tactic is out of bounds; no citizen is safe from their virulent hatred.

I and millions of fellow Americans will not kneel; we will not submit to the party line; we will not abdicate our responsibility to preserve our American heritage; we will not give up our freedoms. It is time in this country to take back our institutions, especially institutions of learning. It is time to recognize how our children have been propagandized to accept Marxism and the theories being used to undermine belief in Capitalism and the greatness of our Republic. It is time to stand up and fight.
