On Saturday, March 24th, beginning at 10:00 a.m., the Polk County Republican Party will hold its annual Convention and Precinct Meetings. These events will take place at Republican Headquarters, 33 S. Peak Street in Columbus.
SPEAKERS: The keynote speaker will be Tim Moore, Speaker of the NC House of Representatives. Attendees will also hear from the District 10 Chair as well as various candidates for public office, including current elected officials. They may also have an opportunity to meet some of the candidates in person. In addition, the outgoing Chair will present a brief report of progress since the Polk GOP began its rebuilding process January 1st, 2018.
VOTING: At the Precinct Meetings, which will begin at 10:00 a.m., Precinct Chairs and Delegates to the County Convention will be elected. At the County Convention, which will begin immediately after the Precinct Meetings, elections will be held for Executive Committee Officers and Delegates to the District and State Conventions. Voting will be limited to Republican voters who were registered as of January 31, 2017 (or who moved into their Precinct or turned eighteen (18) years of age 30 days prior to the Convention).
